Hi! I am currently a game programmer at Izyplay Game Studio. I work mostly with Unity but I love to learn everything related to game dev 🕹️

I'm very interested in render pipelines, shaders, software architecture and game optimizations. Besides work, I’m currently doing a bachelor's degree in Digital Games at PUC Minas, and my goal is to become a tech artist.

I've been in contact with videogames since I was little and I always liked to create worlds and my own stories, but I only realized that I wanted to get into games as a career later in my life 👾

As far as my programmer mind goes, I'm very interested in software architecture and creating clean, reusable code, without throwing away maintainability and business logic integrity. I like to have a macro vision, to work on every part of a project or at least have a solid understanding of the whole.

Besides playing and making games, I enjoy watching anime and livestreams as well as expressing myself creatively through various mediums such as 2D and 3D art, woodworking, and making music.

Highlights

A timeline of some events that shaped my life

2015 - 2018

IFES

It was during high school that I came in contact with programming for the first time. I learned the basics of C++ Language and soon wanted to learn another one.

With the same will in mind, a friend of mine started learning Python and I chose to learn Ruby, just to not copycat 😛

I learned it mostly by doing games using the Gosu gem, and it was pretty fun, this was also my introduction to game programming.

Vocational degree in Mechanics [High school]

2019 - 2020 (Unfinished)

UFMG

I knew I wanted to major in something technology-related but I still didn't know what exactly I wanted to do.

I started learning web development because I thought it had an easier entry barrier to get into the job market.

Sadly, some things happened and I decided to change my major. A decision that I wouldn’t do nowadays 💔 but, like it or not, it was an important thing that got me to where I am today.

Information Systems, B. Sc. [College]

11/19 - 03/20

PICSIZE

At PICSIZE, we were a very small team of 6 people at a startup which has solutions for the photographer job flow, from the moment he finishes taking pictures till he delivers it to his clients.

Although I stayed there for a short time it was an awesome experience. Mostly because the I had the pleasure of being in contact with wonderful people from whom I learned a lot, in a technical and personal level.

Besides, being my first real work experience this had a huge impact on changing my worldview. And jumping from intern to full-time position very quickly is something I’m proud of 🥰

Full-stack Web Developer [Job]

2020 - 2022

(Unfinished)

UFMG

I changed my major without putting much thought on it. I thought that I could have a better future going for a more traditional degree such as engineering.

But during the pandemic I changed my mind. Since the university was on hold I started learning game dev as a hobby, later reigniting my passion and then studying it for 2 years straight 🧠

After that I managed to enter the career path I’ve always dreamed about, and eventually left the university.

Control and Automation Engineering, B. Sc. [College]

01/21 - 02/21

S.U.B.

During the pandemic my college was on hold so I decided to create a game, just for fun. I used Phaser.js engine because I already knew JS programming and it was very pleasing to do it.

I think that doing the sprites by myself added a new layer of "proudness" that I didn't feel in previous games I did 👊
